Whitford Bird Garden, though primarily for birds and plantlife, contains two Eastern Water Dragons.
Eastern Water Dragons are native to eastern Australia are approximately 2-3 ft long (60-90 cm). They have long claws for climbing and a compressed tail for swimming.They are of grayish colour with white vertical stripes going along the entirety of the lizard
The two lizards found here are kept within the confines of the aviary and can often be seen bathing in the rays of sunlight that pierce through the trees onto the boardwalk.
